The short version

Who runs Atlaspong

Atlaspong is run by Yashovaats Karnani in Gurugram, Haryana, India. You can write to Yash080301@gmail.com about anything on this page.

What stays on your phone or computer

The game saves a few things in your browser's storage (called local storage) so it can remember you. These stay on your device and are not sent to us:

You can delete all of it at any time: open Settings and choose "Delete all Atlas data on this device". The game also keeps its own files on your device so it opens faster. That is not tracking.

What we send to our server today

We use a database service called Supabase. Our database is in a data centre in Mumbai, India (region ap-south-1). Three things reach it:

  1. Play counts. When a normal game ends, your browser sends the names of the places that were played, so we can see which places need better facts. Nothing about you goes with it: no name, no id. Kid mode never sends this.
  2. Friends rooms. Rooms are for players aged 13 and over, and are not available in kid mode. If you make or join a room we store the nickname you type (2 to 14 characters), a random private ticket that stays in your browser so you can return to your seat, and the places played in that game. A room lasts one hour. Nicknames in it are then wiped and the tickets renewed. The clean-up runs when someone makes a new room, so on a quiet day it can take longer. If you leave the lobby, your name goes at once.
  3. Leaderboards. See "Nicknames and leaderboards" below.

Our hosting company, Vercel, sends the game's files to your browser. Like every host, it keeps ordinary server logs (such as your IP address and browser type) for a short time. We do not use them to identify players.

Voice answers (optional). The microphone button uses your browser's own speech feature. In some browsers, such as Chrome, the browser sends the audio to its maker's speech service to turn it into text. Atlaspong never receives or keeps the audio.

Nicknames and leaderboards

Nicknames and boards are for players aged 13 and over, outside kid mode.

Analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to learn which screens are confusing and where the game breaks. Clarity records taps, scrolling, the pages you visit, your device and browser type, and a rough location. It can replay a visit as a short video. What you type in the answer box and nickname boxes is hidden from the replay. We also send three event names, "game started", "game ended" (with how many places the chain had) and "Atlas Pro screen viewed". Clarity sets its own cookies. Microsoft processes the data for us under its own privacy statement.

Clarity is never loaded in kid mode, and it is not loaded for players who told us they are under 13. If you want it off, use your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker, and the game still works.
